JUDGE ALBERTO GONAZLES TO BE CONFIRMED. As I understand it, the Senate is currently voting on the nomination of Judge Alberto Gonzales to be the new Attorney General. The NY Times has an article which indicates that he is expected to be confirmed. Much work needs to be done to more fully expose the outrageous falsehoods that many of Judge Gonzales' opponents have been peddling, but it is comforting to finally recieve some closure on his nomination and to see that we will have an excellent new AG.

Sen. Robert Byrd, for one, has chimed in about his opposition to Judge Gonzales, stating he didn't like some of Judge Gonzales answers' to questions about torture. Perhaps this might be due to the fact that torture is too soft of a tactice for Senator Byrd--a former member of a para-military terrorist organization called the Ku Klux Klan.
