NO CONTEST: ARNOLD vs. GIRLIE MEN.  An AP report from today features a number of California Democrats complaining about a speech given by Gov. Schwarzenegger at a rally on Saturday.  The Governator took issue with some stonewalling by some Democrats in the California Assembly and said the following:
"If they don't have the guts to come up here in front of you and say, 'I don't want to represent you, I want to represent those special interests, the unions, the trial lawyers ... if they don't have the guts, I call them girlie men."
I love it!  And the crow did, too.  Politics is not a place for girlie men. Granted, the small hyper-P.C. crowd will always be with us, but the complaints by Gov. Schwarzenegger's political opponents are really about the bitterness they feel towards a very popular and successful Governator.  And if Gov. Schwarzennegger's opponents really wanted to fight back and show they have backbone, you'd think they could do better than complain through spokesmen or press releases.
There is absolutely nothing sexist or homophobic about his remarks.  Incidentally, since the homosexual population is very small proportion of the overall population, I think it fair to say that the overwhelming majority of girlie men in this country are straight--and are probably left-wing in their political orientation.  To the humorless who are now on the ropes politically, however, such complaints may be all they have to go on.
The bottom line: The Governator is popular with the people because he is doing what needs to be done in the Golden State.
