SOLICITOR GENERAL OLSEN STEPS DOWN. As one of my Federalist Society colleagues pointed out to me in an e-mail, our most excellent U.S. Solicitor General, Theodore Olsen, will be stepping down next month.

Olsen is a man of great character and integrity, not to mention a highly skilled attorney. I still remember first seeing him at work in the election cases of the 2000 presidential election. Many of us will never forget his loss when his wife Barbara lost her life on 9/11 in the plane crash into the Pentagon, nor Olsen’s dignity and resolve in carrying on and urging us forward in the fight against terror. He now leaves an important position, but his service in the law will continue.
